| Quality Guidelines |
The quality of print from your digital camera or other digital file will depend largely upon the size of the image. Getting the right image size/quality setting on your camera is crucial to getting the most from your purchase. Image size directly relates to the number of pixels you capture with each shot. Image quality relates to how much compression is used on the resulting image file.
We recommend that you use the highest size setting and the lowest quality setting. This may sound strange, but compression (quality) has very little effect on the print quality of the image.

When you have uploaded images using our order process, if you choose a size that we think will produce too low a quality print, you will see a yellow warning symbol against that image and size.
If you have a 640 x 480 image that you want printed, you can still get a good quality image. Please request 5x3.75" (Sml Digital). This reduces the size of the printed image, and hence improves the print quality.
Using image manipulation software to increase the size of the file, will not increase its ability to print at a larger size. The critical factor is how many pixels were captured originally.
Some cameras offer the option of capturing the image at a 3:2 ratio. In order to avoid confusion we have listed only 4:3 image sizes from the most common cameras. Choose the closest listed size for a good approximation of your camera's capabilities.
